VEF seeks highly qualified applicants for the three programs in the major disciplines of sciences (natural, physical, and environmental), mathematics, medicine (such as biomedical sciences and public health), engineering, and technology (including information technology). Fields include the basic sciences, such as biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as the agricultural sciences and computer science.

Fields not supported by VEF:  Administration, Behavioral Sciences, Business, Education, Health Policy, Law, Management, and Social Sciences are not supported by VEF.
