Director of Finance and Accounting
Thomas Kraemer’s professional experiences have crossed nonprofit and government sectors. Prior to joining the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF), Thomas worked for the federal government at the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) where he served as the Manager of Finance and Administration. In his position at USCIRF, he focused on enhancing the organizational performance of the Commission while ensuring smooth operations, as well as management of overall finance and administrative matters. In addition, he worked for a legal nonprofit in various roles including development, operations, and finance. He is passionate about education and looks forward to serving VEF as Director of Finance and Accounting.
Thomas graduated with honors from Emory University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), concentrating in Finance and Organization & Management. At Emory, he was also President of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society and was awarded the Neil Penn Departmental History Award. Through a scholarship from the Carter Center’s Institute for Developing Nations, he researched urban forms of microfinance and their contribution to economic development at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
